Uptime
Evening,
Looks like a great service, but also seems ridiculously cheap so I'm guessing their must be a catch ![]() What sort of uptime can I expect from your servers on one of your regular service plans? My current host is atrocious, our sites are unreachable at least twice weekly without warning, so I'm looking for something a bit more reliable. Thanks for your time. |

RE: Uptime
Hi Travis,
Honestly there is no catch. Of course "you get what you pay for" as they say, but what we mean by that is if you only need 100MB diskspace, then that's all that you need to pay for. If you need 10GB then you should pay more. Since most people don't come near using 10GB, why pay for so much space? In terms of uptime, we don't provide any SLAs or guarantees. However, to give an indication of uptimes on servers we are currently placing new orders on, they are: Server3 - DirectAdmin US Based - 100.000% since 28th Sept. 2006 Server4 - DirectAdmin UK Based - 99.970% since 25th Oct. 2006 Server15 - Cpanel UK Based - 99.962% since 22nd Oct. 2006 Server16 - Cpanel US Based - 99.978% since 23rd Sept. 2006 And of course the best way to try out our service is to signup and experience for yourself! Please feel free to ask any further questions. |

Travis Wrote:Looks like a great service, but also seems ridiculously cheap so I'm guessing their must be a catchI agree that this service has a price-value ratio I did not see anywhere else. I am hosting 6 low traffic domains for 0,99 pounds per year (this is total price for all 6 domains !) ... I would pay 50 times more with the hosting service I used before. hostfor99 Wrote:In terms of uptime, we don't provide any SLAs or guarantees. The external service that is controlling my websites reported downtime between 5:00 and 7:45 GMT, what was going on ? Actually it was first time I noticed something like this since I placed my domains with you in January. Is there any compensation for downtime from your side ? |

You want compensation on something you pay, what, 8 or 9p a month for? Have a day off brother ![]() For some reason I'm subscribed to this thread, but I guess it gives me the chance to say the uptime is fabulous, much like the hosting generally. Cheers

RE: Uptime
Hi,
The downtime between 5:00 and 7:45 GMT occurred after the firewall locked out all traffic after some routine server administration. As our servers are manually rebooted at our DC, it took slightly longer than usual to get it rebooted at this time of the morning. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. RE: Uptime
For a buck a month why not give it a try, how can you really lose? I am VERY happy with my hosting here. I suppose it can vary based on which server you are on, but the one I am on is usually super fast - rarely laggy - and always seems to be online. Monitor my domain and let me know how my uptime is
For little sites like mine it's a great value!
$200 PLUS million sure buys alot of bling!
